“Lituus in glass explores materiality, transparency, and depth — where light, reflections, and shadows become a living part of the sculptural expression.”
The Lituus Glass Vases are an extension of the popular Lituus collection designed for Georg Jensen. Crafted from smoked glass, the sculptural vases introduce a softer and more atmospheric expression, giving the collection’s distinctive geometry a new character.
The idea behind the design was to unite sculpture and function in one object. Through carefully angled forms crossing one another, the vases are designed to support flowers throughout their entire lifespan.
The angled openings guide stems in different directions, encouraging expressive floral arrangements while allowing each flower to find its natural position, much like flowers stretching towards the sunlight in nature.
The original Lituus collection was introduced in 2025 as a series of stainless-steel vases. With the glass edition, the design takes on a new transparency and depth, where light, reflections, and shadows become part of the sculptural experience.

“With the glass edition, Lituus takes on a new sense of transparency and depth — where light, reflections, and shadows become an ever-changing part of the sculptural expression.”

“The inspiration behind the vases comes from the natural life of flowers — an elegant movement, where stems instinctively stretch towards the sunlight through a mathematical progression of growth.”
