“With Lituus in glass, I wanted to explore transparency, depth, and light as active design elements, allowing reflections and shadows to become part of the sculptural expression.”
The Lituus Glass Vases are an extension of the popular Lituus collection designed for Georg Jensen. Made in smoked glass, the sculptural vases introduce a softer and more atmospheric expression, giving the collection’s distinctive geometry a new character.
The idea behind the design was to unite sculpture and function in a single object. Through carefully angled forms crossing one another, the vases are designed to support flowers throughout their entire lifespan. The angled openings guide stems in different directions, encouraging expressive floral arrangements while allowing each flower to find its natural position, much like flowers reaching towards sunlight in nature.
The original Lituus collection was introduced in 2025 as a series of stainless-steel vases. With the glass edition, the design takes on a new expression, as transparency, depth, light, reflections, and shadows become part of the sculptural experience.

“With the glass edition, the sculptural expression of Lituus changes, as it becomes transparent and reveals a completely different sense of depth.”

“The inspiration behind the vases comes from the natural life of flowers. I wanted to support the elegant movement of stems instinctively stretching towards the sunlight and ensure that the flowers look their best throughout their entire lifespan.”
